Reality Hands for the Needy Organisation has extended its outreach efforts to Mtata Village in Dowa District, where the organisation visited elderly people and other vulnerable groups to better understand the challenges affecting their daily lives.
The visit focused on appreciating the difficult conditions faced by many members of the community, including people living with disabilities, women and underprivileged households. During the outreach, the organisation engaged with community members and witnessed firsthand the struggles many families continue to endure due to limited access to essential support services, mobility challenges and inadequate resources to meet their basic needs.
Speaking during the visit, Bishop Khan said caring for elderly people remains one of the organisation’s key priorities. She explained that many senior citizens continue to live in difficult conditions with little or no support, making it important for communities and organisations to work together in restoring dignity and hope to vulnerable individuals.
Bishop Khan further called for collective efforts from stakeholders, well-wishers and communities to help bridge the existing support gaps affecting vulnerable groups. She emphasized that sustainable community support is essential in improving the welfare and living standards of those most in need.
Group Village Head Mtata expressed gratitude to Reality Hands for the Needy Organisation for the outreach initiative, describing the visit as a source of hope and encouragement for many households in the area. She pledged continued community cooperation to ensure similar interventions keep reaching vulnerable people within the village.
As part of the outreach activities, the organisation donated crutches to individuals facing mobility challenges, alongside clothes and food items distributed to vulnerable families. The donations are expected to ease some of the hardships being experienced by beneficiaries while promoting inclusion and care within the community.
The outreach forms part of Reality Hands for the Needy Organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and advocating for the wellbeing of elderly people and disadvantaged households across the country.
